Foods & Toxins to Avoid

The foods on the Ultimate Definition Phase 2 Food List are essential in speeding up the metabolism, detoxifying the body and building lean muscle. Toxins in unhealthy foods gravitate toward fatty tissue and are stored there making the body toxic.

Stay away from foods that are high in simple or refined sugars, since they are easily converted into body fat.

The following is a partial list of foods to stay away from during the Max Muscle Phase 2. Anything comparable to the listed items should also be avoided:

  • Breads (except Whole Wheat)
  • Bagels
  • Beer & Alcohol
  • Canned Foods (if possible)
  • Candies and Cookies
  • Chocolate (less than 78% cocoa)
  • French Fries & Chips
  • Fried Foods
  • High-Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Highly Processed Foods
  • Margarine or Shortening
  • Refined Sugars
  • Soda – Regular & Diet
  • Soy Sauce
  • Steak Sauces that are not Organic
  • Vegetable Oils (such as Canola Oil & Corn Oil)
  • Worchestershire Sauce
  • White Rice
  • MSG or MSG derivatives (see MSG list below)
  • Artficial sweetners (aspartame, sucralose, saccharin, etc.)

  • Monosodium Glutamate

  • Hydrolyed Corn Gluten
  • Glutamate Acid
  • Calcium Caseinate
  • Texted Protein
  • Hydrolyzed Protein

Names of Ingredients that often contain or produce free glutamic acid (MSG):

Be very careful of fractionated proteins and vegetables, these are normally MSG derivatives (ex., Pea Protein or Corn Protein). Glutamic Acid found in Unadulterated Protein does not cause adverse reactions. To cause adverse reactions, the glutamic acid must have been processed or manufactured.
